Release time:17 May,2022

On May 16, 2022, the cement kiln co-processing solid waste project—invested in by a fund under Chongqing Environmental Protection Industry Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd.—was successfully put into operation in Chongqing’s Wansheng Economic Development Zone. Chongqing Environmental Protection Industry Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd.'s fund invested in 2021 in the cement kiln co-processing solid waste project of Nantong Environmental Technology Company. This project is a key initiative under the "Chongqing Municipal Plan for the Construction of Centralized Hazardous Waste Disposal Facilities," aligning closely with national and Chongqing's development policies that encourage waste utilization and disposal. The successful implementation of this project will effectively address the current shortage in Chongqing's solid waste disposal capacity, delivering significant economic and social benefits. The project leverages the 4,500-ton-per-day clinker production line of Chongqing Nantong Special Cement Co., Ltd., utilizing high-temperature incineration in cement kilns to co-process solid waste. It has a total annual processing capacity of up to 100,000 tons, including 40,000 tons per year for general industrial solid waste and 60,000 tons per year for hazardous industrial waste. The project features five core treatment systems: SMP pre-processing, overhaul slag pre-processing, inorganic solid waste pre-processing, waste liquid pre-processing, and solid-state pre-processing. Notably, the overhaul slag pre-processing system represents the first nationally standardized and systematically designed process line of its kind, marking a crucial technological innovation toward the safe and environmentally sound treatment of electrolytic aluminum overhaul slag.

The completion and commissioning of this project will play a positive role in boosting regional employment and increasing tax revenues. It also serves as a strong demonstration for Chongqing's cement companies in implementing hazardous and solid waste disposal technologies. Moreover, the project will significantly contribute to improving urban environmental quality, advancing ecological development, promoting the circular economy, and supporting the city's sustainable growth.

Since its establishment, Chongqing Environmental Protection Fund has been diligently working to support the real economy through financial services, while staying true to its core business of equity investment.
