The 4th Environmental Protection Seed Venture Capital Fund Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition and Excellence Selection Event Successfully Held

To effectively accelerate the implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy, Dadukou District has established an Environmental Protection Startup Seed Investment Fund, entrusted to Chongqing Environmental Protection Industry Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd. for management. Through hosting innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and other initiatives, the district is creating a vibrant platform for innovation and startup exchanges, showcasing the talents of entrepreneurs and fostering a robust, district-wide atmosphere that encourages mass entrepreneurship and innovation. Additionally, outstanding projects will be included in the seed fund’s support framework, providing much-needed financial assistance to help small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises, as well as entrepreneurial teams, overcome funding challenges during their growth phases. This initiative aims to turn more innovators’ dreams into reality, further strengthening the region’s thriving ecosystem for mass entrepreneurship and innovation.

On June 4, 2019, the 4th Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition combined with the Preferred Selection Event of the Chongqing Dadukou District Environmental Protection Seed Venture Investment Fund was held at the Dadukou Micro-enterprise Dream Factory. This year's competition was organized by Chongqing Environmental Protection Industry Equity Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd., under the guidance of the Municipal Science and Technology Finance Service Center, the Chongqing Environmental Protection Industry Association, the Dadukou District Economic and Information Commission, and the Dadukou District State-owned Assets (Finance) Office. A total of 7 environmentally friendly and technology-focused companies registered to participate in the event.

Seven company representatives confidently and eloquently presented their projects—highlighting key features, unique strengths, core competencies, market potential, and future growth plans—to five esteemed judges from the Municipal Environmental Protection Industry Association, the Chongqing Environmental Fund, and other industry experts. They also expertly addressed the judges' questions, actively seeking policy support, financial backing, valuable resources, and promising development opportunities. The event was both dynamic and engaging, drawing enthusiastic participation from attendees. After a fiercely competitive round, six of the participating companies scored above 60 points overall, earning them top honors. Moreover, these winning firms immediately signed investment intention agreements on-site with an environmental industry equity investment fund, positioning themselves as strong candidates for support from the Dadukou Environmental Seed Investment Fund.

Seed funding fuels entrepreneurship, and green innovation takes the lead. Through this competition, we’ve further identified outstanding environmental, tech-focused projects, teams, and enterprises in Dadukou District. These promising initiatives will also benefit from the prioritized incubation and nurturing provided by Chongqing Dadukou District’s Environmental Protection Entrepreneurship Seed Investment Fund, while actively seeking additional science-and-tech financial support to deliver even greater assistance and backing to these growing businesses.
