[Updates from Portfolio Companies] The groundbreaking and commissioning ceremony for Phase I of Guizhou Xinmao's 140,000-ton-per-year manufacturing base project, dedicated to the recycling and reuse of lithium-ion battery cathode and anode materials, has been successfully launched!

On July 3, 2024, Han Yong, Chairman of Chongqing Environmental Protection Fund Company, was invited to attend the groundbreaking and commissioning ceremony for the first-phase project of Guizhou Xinmao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.'s (referred to as "Guizhou Xinmao") 140,000-ton-per-year manufacturing base dedicated to the recycling and reuse of positive and negative electrode materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Guizhou Xinmao, established in 2022 and affiliated with Shenzhen Xinmao New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Shenzhen Xinmao"), is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the comprehensive recycling and reuse of retired power batteries from new-energy vehicles. It also serves as Shenzhen Xinmao's largest domestic production base for lithium-battery materials. The newly launched project is designed as a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility capable of recycling and reusing 140,000 tons of lithium-ion cathode and anode materials annually—specifically 40,000 tons of cathode materials and 100,000 tons of anode materials each year. Spread across more than 1,000 mu of land, the facility boasts a total construction area of approximately 190,000 square meters and will be implemented in two phases. Upon full completion, the project is expected to generate annual revenues exceeding 4 billion yuan. Guizhou Xinmao stands out globally as the world’s only industrialized project dedicated to the physical-method recycling and reuse of both cathode and anode materials. Moreover, it exemplifies China’s proactive commitment to the national "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality" strategy by serving as a leading model in the new-energy sector. Compared to traditional manufacturers using virgin materials, this project reduces carbon emissions by over 80% and achieves an element utilization rate of more than 95%, truly embodying eco-friendly, zero-pollution production goals.

As a portfolio company of Chongqing Environmental Protection Fund, Shenzhen Xinmao is one of the enterprises listed on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s whitelist for power battery recycling—and it is also the sole organization responsible for drafting the national industry standard for anode material recovery and reuse.

The successful launch of this ignition and production ceremony marks a solid step forward for Shenzhen Xinmao on the path to low-carbon sustainability and green development, opening a new chapter in building a cross-regional recycling system and moving closer to the company’s vision of becoming a "world-class leader in battery recycling."
